Bleeding Tooth (Hydnellum peckii) is a rare mushroom in Tennessee. Say it: hid-nel-um pek-ee-eye.
How to know it
- Has: Teeth underneath
- Has: Bright red droplets
- Does not have: No gills
Oozes red droplets in wet weather
Not edible Very bitter
Never eat a wild mushroom without an expert

- Grows on Forest soil
- Trees Spruce, fir and pine
- Soil Acidic conifer forest soil
- Conditions Cool, damp high mountains
