Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a common mushroom in Tennessee. Say it: truh-mee-teez vur-sih-kuh-lor.
How to know it
- Has: Tiny pores underneath
- Has: Colorful bands
- Does not have: No gills
Look-alikes have a smooth underside
Not edible Too tough to eat
Never eat a wild mushroom without an expert
